Troop 509 Girls - JPL Troop 509

Welcome to Troop 509G! Our troop was founded on March 28, 2019 and it is linked to the boys' Troop 509B. Both troops are chartered by Jet Propulsion Laboratory and follow the same BSA heritage that helps youth gain leadership, outdoor skills, a sense of adventure, confidence, self reliance, critical thinking, and form lasting friendships while having fun. We are independently active, planning our own advancement opportunities, meetings, and more! There are co-ed outings between troops, including family events like the annual Joshua Tree and Kern River Rafting camping trips. We'd love to scout you in!

A message from our 2021 SPL, Nanor Kejejian:

This troop is like no other. With open arms, I joined this troop during a time where we were not even able to see each other in person, and now I find myself in a leadership position as active as I could possibly be. Scouting is an activity that I found brings joy like no other. It allows for growth in mindset, leadership, and personality as well. There are endless opportunities to discover what you are passionate about, whether it is through troop campouts, crazy high adventure outings, rank advancements, multiple merit badges, or even regular troop meetings. Ultimately, you are in charge of your scouting experience, and that's what makes it so special! Scouting is a community, and being able to take part in a youth led program allows everyone to work together to make the experience enjoyable. Even though I joined Troop 509G only about a year ago, I am able to express myself and work with the others like I've known them my whole life. This community is so loving and accepting. Even with these unexpected times that halted in-person activities, I am still so glad to take part in this community and watch it grow over time. My experience in this troop has been unmatched, and being able to connect with so many other scouts is astonishing. As a troop, we are still on our path to grow and become even better, so I hope you will join us for that journey!
